A bright spot in the budget…

…as the Commander In Chief steps up for our returning troops...
The president's budget proposal would provide $58.8 billion for operational costs at the Department of Veterans Affairs and an additional $65.5 billion for veterans benefits.

The request is about 8 percent larger than what was provided in the fiscal 2010 budget. It includes $208 million to expand benefits for those caring for service members severely wounded in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Y'all are very welcome…

…for my service, but my Veteran's Day salute is going to the guy with time in grade...
Ninety-three years ago, Frank Buckles took the oath of enlistment and joined the U.S. Army. He was under age 16, but dreamed of service and adventure and realized that dream during his duty in Europe during World War One. Today, at 109 years of age, Mr. Buckles is recognized as the last living U.S. Veteran of World War One…
Thanks, Frank.
