What 'victory' looks like.

Dr. Black ponders Iraq...
I suppose, ultimately, it came down to blowing up brown people and pissing off liberals. So it was quite a success, really.
I suppose.

Just a data point…

…from Atrios (emphasis added)...

I've added incumbent Brad Miller, a lonely sensible voice on housing issues, and Darcy Burner, who is running in WA-1, to the 2012 fundraising page.
Don't know what it means, but it seems like it means something more than nothing...

(Another big shout out over at Hullaballoo. Sounds like Darcy's finding it pretty easy to put the band back together.)

Yep.

Atrios...
The people in charge have the knowledge, power, and ability to fix things. They have chosen not to.

Good question.

Atrios asks...
Exactly why is anything Newt Gingrich says newsworthy?
Good question. So good, in fact, that it should be put, pointedly and repeatedly, to anyone and everyone who cites, quotes or interviews the disgraced former Speaker on any subject in any venue.

An exception can be made, I suppose, should he be heard to say "Guilty, your Honor," in a superior court somewhere.

From the "Me too" file.

Atrios thinks deeply…
People who disagree with me are ill-informed and have their views clouded by an unrealistic ideological agenda, while I am a clear-minded pragmatist.
Me too, even when I disagree with him.

Not a Friedman Unit (™ Atrios) too soon...

Friedman his own self says
Just get me a Supreme Court justice and a Bible, and let’s swear in Barack Obama right now — by choice — with the same haste we did — by necessity — with L.B.J. in the back of Air Force One.
I'm in.

Hat tip to Gordon.
