Chris Hedges...
"The Black Bloc anarchists, who have been active on the streets in Oakland and other cities, are a gift from heaven to the security and surveillance state."
Well said. Every manifestation of the Occupy movement needs to condemn the Black Block provocateurs wherever and whenever they emerge.

But many people who are either in office, or hoping to be, are silent about the anarchists who caused $5 million in damage, down in Oakland, because they don't want to look soft on "income inequality."

The Occupy movement has made its point, and now, it's time to just shut it down. It's an election year. If there are people with concerns about the system, they can try to affect change through the political process. Admittedly, since most of the hierarchy of what's generally called "the two major parties" are controlled by the financial interests of America (and elsewhere), there's really only two positions that matter: Secretary of Treasury and the head of the Federal Reserve. But it takes a president to appoint one, and suggest the latter to Congress.
