The only Apple product I've ever owned was an Ipod Shuffle, but the company's impact on our culture is incalcuable and, near as I can tell, to a remarkable degree the result of Jobs' singular vision.

For the generation that came of age since 1980 or so, you were either an Apple guy or a Microsoft guy; in the same way an earlier generation took its allegiance from Ford, Chevy or Chrysler.
Those digital umblilical cords most folks have dangling from their ears, have secured that paradigm shift.
