From the "Lessons learned" file.

Professor Sinhababu instructs...
If somebody kills thousands of American citizens, a Democratic president will kill him. A Republican president will kill thousands of unrelated people.
Keep that in mind. It'll come up in the final next November.

I take it you are not counting the thousands that have died since Obama took over as well? These being "unrelated" people too?

It wasn't just bin Laden that died these past two years, but thousands of others have died overseas in this "War on Terror".

Knowing Shaun as I do, I can say that he is indeed counting the civilians who have died, in the course of the active war zones that the United States has found itself (still) involved with, as the direct result of President Bush's inability to focus on the man responsible for September 11, 2001; and over-reaching the ability of America's volunteer armed forces, to fight wars that require a draft and more money than the United States had (but China loaned our government).

Now, that Osama bin Laden has been dispatched, maybe the current president will work harder towards the goal of bringing American armed forces home from both Iraq and Afghanistan; despite the fact that the military has become a massive jobs program, in the midst of the economic crisis that enveloped the world, in the fall of 2008; and which the world's leaders continue to try to survive.

Personally, if President Obama can have some Navy SEALs track down the 100 to 200 Egyptians who sexually assaulted Lara Logan, and dispatch them, too, that would be fine. Of course, that's unlikely to happen. Besides, Ms. Logan survived that brutal attack, while about 3,000 to 5,000 people (if you include first responders) never lived to tell their stories, after September 11, 2001.

Of course, one has to wonder if there are times, when she has PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder), if Ms. Logan wishes she hadn't made it. Her children, as she herself said, are what kept her - keep her - going. Thank god for those Egyptian women who closed ranks. Those women were (are) brave as Navy SEALs.
