The president seems to be espousing the easy - and maybe incorrect - answer: increase taxes on what's left of the original Seven Sisters. But doing something to ensure that speculators have to do business, in the light of day, and not off in the UK, might be the better answer.
If memory serves, Senator Cantwell wanted to ensure that happened.
