Via Meteor Blades...
40% of the population has been pushed right off the economic map. I don't see how we can preserve our democracy if we don't address this glaring and growing disparity. We face no greater threat.

This chart shows that people are led to believe there is better wealth distribution than reality. Go politicians!
Would be interesting to see how wealth distribution has evolved over the last 25 years too.
I know it's gotten more concentrated, but I'm not sure of the degree. My sense is that twenty years ago the numbers looked a lot more like the estimate. Many Americans haven't come to grip with the disappearance of the middle class - the green and purple bars - and their share of it since the Reagan era.
