On a personal note...

...geezerhood seems to be setting in, as I keep having nostalgic "seems like" thoughts. For instance, it seems like the old metal ice cube trays froze the water twice as fast and made the ice twice as hard as the plastic (i.e., petroleum) replacements.

I'm almost certainly wrong about that, but it sure seems like...

Yep, at some point, given what current events have shown us, we're going to have to give up the petroleum-based ice cube trays, and go back to what we had before.

We use too much petroleum for the goofiest stuff these days, almost as if we're asking the planet to tell us to stop; or intent on completely pillaging it. Who, in God's name (or anyone else's) thought plastic shoes, aka "Crocs," was a good idea?
