Yesterday, GOP.gov, the official website for the House Republican caucus, continued the anti-stimulus drumbeat, blaring press releases calling the stimulus a failure. Ironically, posted just above two releases attacking the stimulus, the website features a release from Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) taking credit for $35 million dollars in stimulus highway money...The real champions of the folks in WA-5, of course, were the Democratic leadership and our Democratic delegation in DC who saw to it that the needs of the folks across the Cascade Curtain were tended to while McMorris Rodgers was busy representing the ideological interests of the Republican leadership instead of the real needs of the people of eastern Washington.
...The $35 million in TIGER highway funds were provided by the stimulus McMorris Rodgers tried to kill. McMorris Rodger’s press release, however, claims she was a “champion” in gaining the funding.
There's a part of me that thinks it's high time that every constituent of every Republican member of Congress was cut off from federal disbursements their Rep voted against until they get fed up or starved out and send us a better Congress.
Then I remember I'm talking about Mom, and Sis, and my nieces and great-neices, and I'm more inclined to applaud the generous hearts of our Democratic Congress. Enjoy the jobs and new roads, folks, but don't let McMorris Rodgers take even a bit of credit.

My beef - Why am I expected to pay taxes to cover her health care when I have none.
Talk about cheap opportunism, Ms. McMorris-Rodgers - or is it Mrs.? - takes the cake.
McMorris is a nothing. I wrote her the following, after receiving one of her rah-rah-look-what-I'm-doing-for-you-in-D.C. email letters:
To Representative Cathy McMorris Rodgers:
Your participation in the hateful, traitorous "Tea Party" anti-health care reform rally on the steps of the Capitol November 5 is "deeply troubling" (your own phrase in email). Members of Congress engaging in this puerile display of ignorance is "deeply troubling." That you were part of that bizarre gathering is also deeply embarrassing, since you ostensibly represent all of District 5. Did you not see the offensive banners and signs all around you? People covered in blood; signs accusing President Obama as being part of a Jewish plot to bring on the "Antichrist"; signs declaring "Waterboard Congress" and "A Commie is in the House"?
Most offensive to me and many others were large banners proclaiming: "National Socialist Healthcare, Dachau, Germany, 1945," illustrated with close-up photographs of World War II Holocaust victims, including children. Have you no shame?
I did not hear you pronounce disgust, or distance yourself from these sentiments. Actually, this demonstration of ignorance was an official House GOP event, with one of the most unbalanced people in Congress leading the subtext of blowing up government, Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann. Aren't you the government? How contemptible. These actions do NOT represent me, or your district.
Why are you against reforming our unfair health care system? You know what? We want the health care system you and your colleagues in Congress have, that WE pay for. Or, we want YOU to have the health care system we working-class people have in the real world that you disregard.
Needless to say, she never replied. Coward. Big nothing. Why do people vote for her? Never mind.
Waste your breath on something that is actually hypocritical. Democrats under the Republican Congress consistently voted against appropriations, and yet Democratic districts still received earmarks. There is a difference between being against a bill and being against your area getting funds from a bill if it passes. This is the same line the Democratic minority like Steny Hoyer and Jim Clyburn used when whipping "no" votes on appropriation bills. Give me a break, you are an idiot.
At poster #3: People vote for McMorris Rodgers because she represents the values of her district better than anyone else, just like I'm sure you would say McDermott, Inslee, Dicks, or Smith do on the west side. The beauty of the political world is that people believe different things, and as a result, there is dialogue. I think you need to realize that your lack of agreement with her doesn't disqualify her from representing her district. And you honestly expect her to answer an intelligible rant about what you interpret the tea party movement to be? Seriously, she's got better things to do, like actually answer her constituents when they send opinions about IMPORTANT, LEGISLATIVE issues. Next time, before you open your mouth, make sure your brain is connected.
