A Democrat - without prefix, without suffix, without apology.
There is no question, at this point, that the defining feature of today’s politics is the complete craziness of the Republican party.

So that must mean the president isn't lying when he says his plan won't cover the medical expenses of non-citizens. Given Brian Sontag's 2005 report on DSHS in Washington State, a hunch is that, if the president isn't lying out-right, there's going to be people exploiting any, and all, loopholes, to do just that. Congressman Wilson might have been inopportune in his timing, but correct in his assertion. Likely, we'll all find out, soon enough, when the plan is passed into law.
No, Terry, Wilson was wrong. The bill moving through the House, the bill that contains the principle elements of what we can finally call the Obama plan, has a specific provision denying people who are in the country illegally benefits under the legislation. Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, but not their own facts.
You've read more than I have; so will take your word on that. It's probably another reason the congressman apologized, shortly thereafter - along with pressure from those in his own party. But as I said, given how someone in Washington State government did an end run around the rules for Medicaid, and also enrolled non-citizens into the Basic Health Care plan, I still wonder if it won't happen with what the president proposes. But then, that wouldn't be his fault. And it certainly wouldn't make him a liar.
