The Lion sleeps tonight...

"For all those whose cares have been our concern, the work goes on,
the cause endures, the hope still lives, and the dream shall never die."

Even though I myself lost a friend to brain cancer, back in 2001, somehow I thought Senator Kennedy would beat the disease. Part of it, is that he'd been in the Senate for so long, it's hard to imagine the Senate without him.

I believe that, when he finally gave up alcohol, and really turned to on doing all he could, before he was either voted out, or passed away, he gained the respect of most of his colleagues in the Senate. Even those who were "across the aisle," as the saying goes, people such as Orrin Hatch.

It's a sad day for America and his family. But he leaves a proud legcy of service to his country.
