From the "Me neither" file.

Via The Note...
Sen. Feingold pointed to Af-Pak Ambassador Richard Holbrooke's recent comments when asked about what success will look like in Afghanistan. "We'll know it when we see it," said Holbrooke.

"That's not good enough for me," Feingold responded.
Me neither.

It would appear that the tactics being used to drive United States troops out, suicide bombers and indiscriminate bombing of any business associated with foreigners, is now going to reach a frenzy in Afghanistan; as it has in Iraq.

At least 41 people are reported dead, in a bombing that took place in Afghanistan today, with a foreign construction business the target; but as a police officer said, women, children and the elderly got caught in this latest bit of Taliban butchery.

Leave or stay. It's a Hobson's Choice, for certain.

Bob Herbert nailed it in today's - August 24, 2009 - New York Times. If there was a draft, or at least the threat of a truly universal draft - one such as Bobby Kennedy suggested, where even college kids got notice - there likely wouldn't be the on-going occupation of Iraq; nor would there be the saber rattling going on in regards to Afghanistan.

For that reason, and that reason alone, I say bring back the draft; or as Country Joe McDonald might put it, "the fuckin' draft."

If Glenn Beck has a kid, let's get him, right away - and everyone of the neocon Big Mouths' offspring.
