Speaking of Twitter...

...if I didn't know it was an online toy, I'd swear it was a drug in a William Gibson novel.

Amen, fellow Luddite.

That I just don't get it about Twitter surely marks me as over-the-hill.

The problem with Twitter is it limits messages by character count. Forget having a train of thought that goes on longer than - well what is it? I think it is just (about) 150 characters, maybe 156 to be precise.

What e-mails did to letter writing was pretty bad; although myself and a few other folks treat e-mails just like letters, and go long and deep, with the words, if the need is felt.

Twitter will just prolong the dopey acronyms such as LOL, that have become the bane of our existence on the Internet. And capitalization has pretty much been forgotten. Do they even teach English in school, anymore? If so, it must be tough for the teachers to watch the rules of grammar be regularly ground under foot.
