...when did "the Democratic base" come to mean "people who might vote Democratic (if they bother to vote at all) if the Democrats in Congress do everything imaginable to placate them, including at least three impossible and four contradictory things."
Cause I missed that.

Back when "Scoop" Jackson was alive, some of the people being called part of the "Democratic base" did indeed consider voting Democrat; and oftentimes did.
These days, more often it seems those same people simply want to take issue with a president who is an American of African descent. Likely, they'll never get over that.
Who is this anonymous person who seems to have English as perhaps his third or even fourth language? Perhaps he's a member of the Russian mafia trying to hack into this site, just for the heck of it.
